There's nothing better than
farm-fresh eggs!

Rancho Papagallo's free-range, pastured chickens produce the most flavorful eggs that also happen to be higher in Omega-3s, which are good for you! Store-bought eggs are bright yellow and flat. Rancho Papagallo eggs are a rich orange color are are beautifully domed.

Beware the store labels on eggs: "Organic eggs" are often laid by chickens who are kept in confined quarters to ensure they only eat organic food. "Organic" does not necessarily mean humanely raised. Even "free range" chickens often only range as freely as a small clay lot.

We have about 30 producing hens, including Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, White Leghorns, Araucanas, Jersey Giants and others. The "rooster-daddy" of Rancho Papagallo is a purebred Buff Orpington. Our hens have the full run of 5 acres including pasture grass and sand, which produces the best flavor and firmness in the eggs and allows them to be happy hens all day long!
